Simon Yates is the eight British rider to win a stage in the Giro and the first one since Mark Cavendish in 2013.

Bennett first Irish rider to win a stage in Giro since Roche

Sam Bennett became the first Irish rider to win a stage in the Giro since Stephen Roche in 1987. He’s the fourth Irish rider to win a stage in the Giro.

Simon Yates fourth Britain in pink jersey

Simon Yates conquered the pink jersey in the Giro d’Italia. He’s is the fourth British rider to wear the pink jersey in the Giro and the first since Mark Cavendish in 2013.

Jhoan Esteban Chaves Rubio won the stage. It’s his second Giro stage after winning in Corvara 2016 and the 27th stage win for Colombia in the Giro.

Mitchelton-Scott is the first team to score a 1-2 in an uphill finish at the Giro since Emanuele Sella and Domenico Pozzovivo recorded the same feat in 2008 for CSF – Navigare at Passo Fedaia.
