Today former Vuelta winner Chris Horner announced his comeback. The 46-year-old American rides the American championship this weekend for Team Illuminate. In 2013, Horner became with an age of 41 years and 327 days the oldest winner of a Grand Tour due winning the Vuelta a Espana.

Another former Grand Tour winner, Damiano Cunego, is in his last days as a professional cyclist. The Italian rides Adriatica Ionica Race this week and says goodbye to the peloton in the Italian championships. Cunego won in 2004 the Giro d’Italia.

In this week some teams also announced their Tour de France squad. The selection of Mitchelton-Scott was a little bit surprised. The Australian didn’t select their sprinter Caleb Ewan. The rumours say that he’s close to leaving the team and that’s the reason why he must stay home. Now the Australian formation counts on Adam Yates for the general classification.
